Holding Pattern | Original Painting

$2,800.00

Holding Pattern is a textured original painting featuring twelve snaffle bits, one for each month of the year of the horse. Each bit is hand-sculpted in plaster with real dimension that can be seen across the room. The palette stays firmly in my usual Umber earth tones: adding in aged iron, warm taupe, and a single copper-toned bit to represent this year being the year of the “Fire Horse.” The copper bit stands out among the others to draw your attention, but not too much to make it distraction. The perfect subtle nod to the fire horse.

At 24" × 36", this is a confident piece that fills a wall without overwhelming a room. It works best in a living room, study, primary bedroom, or entryway — anywhere you want a strong visual anchor that feels collected and personal rather than decorator-generic. The neutral palette means it layers easily with leather furniture, linen textiles, natural wood, and warm metals.

This painting is for the horse person who also has great taste in design. It bridges the equestrian world and the luxury interior effortlessly so it feels both meaningful, and sophisticated enough to belong in any well-designed space. If you've been looking for art that reflects your lifestyle without feeling like tack room décor, this is it.
