Forged in Fire 66 is the anchor of my entire Iron & Umber collection. This piece holds fifteen horses painted in plaster and covered in layers of warm neutral acrylic and touches of metallic paint and oil pastel. True to the design of this whole collection, there is a single copper Fire Horse that stands out among the rest. The name of this painting signifies the year of 1966 being the last year of the Fire Horse, this is also the year my mom was born. My mom had a challenging childhood and grew up raising me and my five siblings on our family farm. She has been a consistent role model of a dedicated mother and what it looks like to rise from the ashes and choose your own own future, regardless of your past. Forged in Fire ‘66 is dedicated to my mama and is the centerpiece of this whole collection.
At 20" × 20", this is a versatile piece that can stand alone on a wall or set on a shelf or fireplace. This unique painting will draw attention in any space you place it. The neutral palette and deep tones in the horses allow it to layer easily with leather furniture, linen textiles, natural wood, and warm metals.
This painting is not just for the horse person, it is for the person who wants a painting that has deep meaning and will draw a conversation. The bronze metallic elements give this painting a luxury feel, while the horses give it a naturally equestrian theme. It is the type of piece that nobody else has, and everybody wants, a true one-of-a-kind.
